ELECTRO-DYNAMIC®
The EDD™ provides up to two-stage desalting in a single vessel. NATCO’s patented and proprietary Electro-Dynamic® Desalter was developed to replace the conventional two-stage AC desalting technology, providing multiple phases of electrostatic mixing, coalescing, and settling in a single vessel. This technology is one of the most efficient electrostatic technologies available in the industry.
Superior desalter performance improves overall refinery operations or upstream dehydration operations by protecting downstream equipment from harmful chlorides, and minimizes unplanned downtime. Reduced BS&W content leads to less downstream equipment fouling and prevents loss of heat exchanger efficiency.
NATCO EDD technology provides the lowest cost solution for a desalting capacity increase. With conventional AC desalting technology you would have to add a second vessel to increase crude through-put or add a second stage of desalting. With two-stages of desalting in a single vessel the EDD also provides the smallest footprint available in the industry.
