HIPERSCREEN™

NATCO’s HiperScreen self cleaning strainers are specifically developed for one of the most difficult applications, the pre-treatment of seawater for oil field water injection. Many competitor units fail in this duty due to mechanical unreliability, poor backwashing and inability to handle the solids.

These solids lead to irreversible fouling of certain woven or mesh filter elements, when NATCO’s HiperScreen remains unfouled.

The HiperScreen design includes:

  • Maximum filtration area to keep equipment sizes smaller
  • Robust mechanical design to minimize maintenance cost
  • Easily cleaned ‘wedge-wire’ elements to reduce downtime

Available as stand alone or skid-mounted packages, the HiperScreen can be configured to a wide range of flow rates and applications where the seawater contains suspended solids ranging from 50 to 2000 microns, such as silt, plankton, and algae.

The HiperScreen ensures efficient and effective cleaning through its design which demands very low instantaneous backwash water by harnessing high backwash velocities through only half of the filtration unit at any one time.

The innovative design of the NATCO HiperScreen gives more efficient filtration per square meter than other similar units, and is robust enough to withstand challenging offshore conditions.
